Simon Buddle CEng MIET
Simon is a true industry stalwart, with 30 years of industry experience, including 12 years as technical director at a prestigious London systems integrator. Simon currently works as a consultant to the industry trade body - CEDIA - operating as their Education Director. He has worked for 17 years as an instructor both in the UK and internationally, including the Middle East, South Africa, the US and across Europe. He is a consultant to the industry specialising in structured wiring for residential and MDUs, systems integration, BMS/BEMS and project management.
Simon has also written and published a wealth of material on the topic of the integrated home. He regularly writes for KNXToday + HiddenWires, and his published work includes the CEDIA Technical Reference Manual as a subject matter expert and the CEDIA Recommended Wiring Guidelines as the technical author. He is currently working with the BSI as the technical author for a new PAS, “Digital Multi Media Wiring for the Residential Market”.
Simon sits on technical committees at the IET, BRE and Voltimum, and has written and delivered training for Certsure, NICEIC and ECA bodies. He has held posts on the NSI and CAI technical committees and was responsible for designing and delivering the first BPT XIP to Crestron SIP MDU access control system.
He received the CEDIA Special Recognition Award in 2013 for his services to the industry.
